Stephanie Bell, elected to six consecutive terms on the Alabama State Board of Education, will be speaking at the Talladega County Republican Party meeting at the Spring Street Community Center in Talladega Aug. 20, which begins at 6 p.m. The meeting is open to the public. Bell has been a part of every major initiative since serving on the State Board of Education, including the Alabama Reading Initiative and the Alabama Math, Science and Technology Initiative. She also worked to expose corruption in the state's two-year college system.
Bell serves on the Steering Committee for the Education Commission of the States and has served on the National Association of State Boards of Education Governmental Affairs Committee for six terms.
She has also been instrumental in fighting the Common Core Curricula that has been adopted in Alabama and many other states. Bell plans to share her concerns about Common Core and other areas that affect the state’s children.
