"We need an infusion of newcomers," says Bonnie Mizzell, current acting President. "We have older members now, and we still have good ideas and lots of experience and knowledge to share, but need some youth to bring us back."
The proposed new class will be held on Thursdays beginning Aug. 22 from 9:00a.m. -2:30 p.m. and until Nov. 14. Subjects to be discussed include botany, vegetable gardening, soil propagation, disease, insect identification and more.
Upon completion of the class, you may use your new knowledge by volunteering 50 hours at an Extension approved site in order to become a Certified Alabama Master Gardener.
All classes will be held at the Talladega County Extension Office on North Court Street in Talladega. Cost for the 12-week class and field trips is $125 for one person, or a couple may share a book for $200.
