TALLADEGA COUNTY — The Sheriff’s Department is looking for answers regarding the theft of a truck from a vacant lot near U.S. 280 east of Sylacauga Wednesday night.

Capt. Bill Kennedy said he believes the 2013 Ford F-550 4x4 truck, valued at $50,000 and belonging to Service Electric Company, went missing around 8 p.m.

“They got the whole truck and everything on it,” Kennedy said. “It was a new model truck, and I’m assuming (the equipment) is what usually comes with it.”

According to Kennedy, the truck was fully loaded with various construction equipment, including numerous wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers, road cones, knives, diesel fuel and safety gear.

Kennedy said the operators of the truck parked the vehicle at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday and discovered it was missing at 5:35 a.m. Thursday.

The incident is currently under investigation, and anyone with information regarding this case should contact Kennedy at 256-761-2141.
