Thomas said the driver of the truck, who was not injured, was seen driving the wrong way around Courthouse Square before attempting to make a hard left and turning over. No other vehicles or pedestrians were involved.
The accident did cause traffic to back up for some time Monday afternoon, however. The city’s Twitter feed indicated that the coil had been removed and the street was open again by late afternoon. The hole in the pavement will remain for a while, however.
There was no estimated on the cost of damage to the street from the coil.
