“Residents in the city limits should receive the Lincoln Life flyers in the next couple days,” said Mayor Bud Kitchin. “We are sending them to all residences and P.O. boxes to the best of our ability.”
Kitchin said adding another form of communication was one of the things residents brought up in the city’s Neighborhood Listening Tours.
“We knew there was another way to get the word out about events across the city, in addition to the signage, Facebook pages, websites and more,” he said. “The flyers are in addition to all those other multi-media efforts.”
Kitchin said in addition to the mail, flyers are available at City Hall, the Parks and Recreation Department, City Center, Public Library and local businesses.
The Lincoln Life flyer includes information about upcoming events including the Fourth Annual Lincoln Metric/Century Superspeedway Bike Ride, Lincoln Park State Baseball Tournament, Farmer’s Market, Music on Magnolia, a calendar for June, July and August and a Mayor’s Corner including helpful phone numbers for your refrigerator door for city departments and services.
“We plan to rotate things through including helpful city information, upcoming events and more,” he said. “We will look at the frequency of sending out these flyers based on the response to the initial flyer.”
Kitchin said residents can put suggestions on the Parks and Recreation Department’s Facebook page, email them to firstname.lastname@example.org, mail them to P.O. Box 172, Lincoln, AL 35096 or place them in the night drop box at the City Hall drive-thru.
