Teen killed in four-wheeler accident Saturday

TALLADEGA COUNTY — A teenager was killed and two other people were injured in a four-wheeler vs. Jeep accident Saturday afternoon.

According to Alabama State Troopers, the accident occurred at 3:10 p.m. on Rendalia Motorway, 5 miles east of Winterboro.

Wesley Newsome, 17, was driving the four-wheeler when he collided with a 2000 Jeep Cherokee driven by Rebecca Hart, 24, of Talladega.

Newsome was killed outright. Hart suffered minor injuries and was treated and released by paramedics at the scene.

Morgan Faye Joiner, 15, was a passenger on the four-wheeler and suffered serious injury. She was airlifted to Birmingham via Lifesaver helicopter Saturday afternoon.

No information on Joiner’s condition was available Monday afternoon.

The case remained under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
