Woman faces manslaughter charge for allegedly running over 3-year-old
TALLADEGA — Police arrested a Talladega woman Friday for manslaughter, according to Capt. John McCoy.

Rymeshia Williams, 22, had a 3-year-old child in the Mercury Mountaineer she was driving. The child fell out of the vehicle and was run over by Williams at 4 p.m. Thursday.

McCoy said they’re still trying to piece together how the incident occurred and Williams told investigators the child freed itself from the restraints.

The child was transported to Children’s Hospital in Birmingham and was pronounced dead several hours later.

Judge Jeb Fannin set the bond for Williams at $30,000.
