Lincoln’s Shelbi White was the brightest star at Gulf Shores this weekend. White set the state record in the 400 on Friday, and then on Saturday she went on to win the 100 and the 200-meter dash. She also ran the anchor leg for the 4x400 team that won the gold.
The Lady Golden Bears finished third in the state for the second straight year. The boys track and field team finished 18th. Austin Swain finished third in the 110 hurdles.
Sylacauga’s Devin O’Neal goal of winning the 100 and 200-meter dash title became a reality on Saturday.

It was a tough day in the win, but he fought through and won the event, “Steers said. “I thought he would have the least chance of winning. I can't wait to see what he does in College.
Childersburg also had a strong showing. Senior DJ Jones won the state championship in the 300-meter hurdles. Courtney Reynolds finished second in the long jump and place third in the triple jump. The Tigers finished fifth in the state.
The Munford Lions won the state championship in 4x100 relay.
