“Apparently there was a fight amongst several females in the bar that went outside at about 1 a.m. Saturday,” Police Chief Alan Watson said. “Someone fired a couple shots.”
Watson said a 27-year-old female was grazed in the arm and a 39-year-old man was shot in the mouth.
“As far as we know, only one gun was involved, and the shooter was not one of the people injured,” he said.
Watson said during the same time period, a 39-year-old male was struck by a vehicle and injured his leg.
“None of the injuries were life-threatening,” he said. “At this time, we are not sure who the intended target of the shooting was, or if either of the people shot was the intended target.”
Watson said all three of the injured individuals are Talladega residents.
He said the names were not available for release Saturday night.
“We are interviewing witnesses and the case is under investigation by the Talladega Police Department,” Watson said.
No further information was available Saturday night.
