TALLADEGA — Police and firefighters, along with North Star paramedics, responded to two back to back traffic accidents Thursday evening.

The first, on Alabama 77, involved a red Honda Civic with a Talladega County tag, a white Toyota 4Runner with a Clay County tag and a Dodge Caravan with a St. Clair County tag. The drivers of the Honda and Toyota, both females, were transported to the emergency room at Citizens Baptist Medical Center, although their injuries did not appear serious.

The second wreck occurred on the 275 Bypass after 5 p.m. This accident involved more serious injuries.

According to witnesses, the driver of a Toyota Camry crossed the centerline, striking an older model red Honda Civic with Talladega County plates. The driver of the Honda, a male, attempted to avoid the Camry, but was struck head-on. He eventually had to be cut out of the wreckage by Talladega firefighters.

The driver of Camry, a female, also appeared to have been seriously injured.

The names of the drivers and their conditions were not available Thursday night.
