SYLACAUGA — Coosa Valley Medical Center celebrated its first delivery of 2013 with the birth of Houston Thomas Ogle on Jan. 2.

Vern and Jeanie Ogle welcomed their baby boy at 8:25 a.m. via a scheduled C-section performed by Dr. Jonathan Rehberg. Houston weighed in at 5 pounds, 7 ounces and measured 18-and-a-half inches long.

The proud parents are calling their son a miracle baby after having suffered nine miscarriages.

“He’s number 10,” said Vern Ogle, program director at Alabama Teen Challenge in Lincoln. “He was a twin, but we lost one. His middle name, Thomas, means ‘one twin’ in the Bible. He’s extra special. I’m excited.”

Jeanie Ogle, PACS administrator in radiology at CVMC, said she is just happy to be Houston’s mommy.

“I watched everybody else become and mom, and I never thought I would,” she said. “We had a lot of people praying for this little baby.”
