The weekend is set to include activities for alumni, family, friends and guests of the institution to commemorate its founding.
The coronation of Mr. and Miss Talladega College will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2, in DeForest Chapel.
Festivities continue on Saturday, Nov. 3, with tailgating, food, fun, and fellowship beginning at 9 a.m.
The Annual Founders’ Day Parade begins at 10 a.m. and will feature the Talladega College Marching Band along with other local bands and groups.
There will be an “Alumni Chant, Strut, and Hop Fest” in the parking lot of Sumner Hall on Martin Luther King Drive beginning at 11:30 a.m.
The homecoming basketball games will begin with the Lady Tornadoes versus Lane College at 1 p.m. in the Tornado Alley Gymnasium; the men’s basketball team will face the Lane College Dragons at 3 p.m.
The celebration will continue Saturday evening with the 15th Annual Founders’ Celebration Banquet at the Talladega Superspeedway Dome.
A special VIP reception meet-and-greet with guest speakers Hank and Billye Aaron, and recording artist Eric Benet will begin at 6:30 p.m. The banquet will begin at 7 p.m. where guests will enjoy a dinner and entertainment.
The Annual Founders’ Day Convocation will conclude the weekend’s homecoming activities.
The convocation will take place at 10 a.m. on Sunday; the featured guest speaker is Dr. Juliette Bell, president of the University of Maryland at Eastern Shore.
Bell is a TC alumna and Talladega native who is recorded as the 14th Talladega College graduate to become a college or university president.
All of the events are open to the public.
