Nichols-Lawson Pageant supports Miss Talladega County, school basketball
The inaugural Mr. and Miss Nichols-Lawson Middle School Pageant was held in the school gymnatorium Friday, April 13, with 30 contestants participating from grades six, seventh and eight.

Eighth grade students Brandt Howard and Madisyn Vincent were chosen Mr. and Miss Nichols-Lawson Middle School by a panel of judges.

Vincent is the daughter of Tim and Fran Vincent of Sylacauga.

Howard is the son of Mr. Brandon Lee Howard of Sylacauga.

Eighth grade winner was Lexy Patterson, seventh grade winner was Caitlyn McTier and sixth grade winner was Savannah Jones.

Ten contestants participated in an optional talent competition and the winner was Patterson who performed a lyrical jazz dance to “We’re Dancing”.

Each contestant participated in an onstage walk and answered a question based on information from their entry information.

Three semi-finalists were chosen from each grade.

Eighth grade semi-finalists were Mary Caroline Heath, Lexy Patterson and Madisyn Vincent.

Seventh grade semi-finalists were Hallee Lightsey, Caitlyn McTier and Savannah Sanders; and sixth grade semi-finalists were Kaylee Foster, Savannah Jones and Emma Wright.

The pageant was produced by the Miss Talladega County Scholarhip Organization.

Proceeds were divided equally between the Miss Talladega County Pageant and the Nichols-Lawson Middle School’s basketball program.
