BOE paves way for city to apply for SRO grant The Board of Education voted 4-0 Thursday morning to enter into a memorandum of understanding with the Talladega Police Department, which is applying for a grant that would pay 75 percent of the salary and benefits of two school resource officers. Board member James Braswell was absent.
Sheriff Jimmy Kilgore announced Tuesday evening that the body of Nicholas Bower of Villa Rica, Ga., had been found in Choccolocco Creek. Bower was last seen May 4,at the South Park campground at the Talladega Superspeedway.
The City Board of Education heard a presentation Monday night from Police Chief Alan Watson regarding a possible partnership to provide two school resource officers through a Community Oriented Policing Service grant.
