Regardless of whether it was actually needed or not, local governments, from the county EMAs to school systems to road departments and the DOT, were well prepared for whatever Mother Nature dropped on us over the past couple of days.

Schools had plans to get children home safely and other agencies had contingency plans to take care of everything from sanding roads to providing shelter for people without good heating.

It’s good to know that, when it really counts, the local governments that we support with our taxes are up to the task of taking care of their citizens in the event of severe weather.
