The industry off Fayetteville Road is requesting tax abatements for the project from the City Council at its 9 a.m. meeting today.
Heritage, which has been in Sylacauga since 2007, develops and manufactures its own class of calcium carbonate concentrates for a variety of plastic resins and applications. Its marble-based materials are designed to improve performance, be more cost-efficient and minimize the carbon footprint of the finished product compared to a resin-only system, according to its website.
Founded in 1982, Heritage Plastics was established in Picayune, Miss., before opening its second plant in Sylacauga.
