• Vietnam Veterans of American Chapter 945 will hold their monthly meeting on at the Legion Hall on Hammett Avenue in Sylacauga. Opening ceremonies commence at 6:30 pm.

• Come to the Young at Heart meeting and play bingo at the Pell City Civic Center at 10:30 a.m. Bring an inexpensive gift or pay $1 to play. Free lunch on the first visit.

• Spring break movie at Jacobs Chapel CME Church at 2:30 p.m. Free admission, free concessions. Event is sponsored by Youth Sunday School Class with Dr. Floretta James Dortch, instructor.

THURSDAY, MARCH 27

• National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) Chapter 1511 meets at 10:45 a.m. at DeSoto Pastime Center (Building 1530), Anniston Army Depot. “Life’s Events” workshop will provide copies and introduce a planning document free to all NARFE members. Also, brief memorial honoring chapter members who died in 2013. All current/retired federal civilian employees and annuitant survivors are encouraged to attend. No special permission needed to enter Depot for this event. Just show driver’s license and tell guard you’re going to the NARFE meeting. Coosa Pines Federal Credit Union will host its 2014 annual meeting at the R.S. Limbaugh Community Center in Childersburg, featuring television meteorologist James Spann as guest speaker. Social time begins at 6:30; the annual meeting begins at 7.

The Zack Mason Memorial Second Annual Chicken Head Run is at Lakeside Park. Registration for the 5K, 10K and 1 Mile Fun Run begins at 7 a.m. and the race begins at 8 a.m. Registration/participant fee is $20 which includes a t-shirt and chance for great door prizes.
