According to Captain John McCoy, the incident occurred sometime between 11 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. The victim, a 20-year-old man, was hit one time. Although McCoy said his injuries were not likely to be life-threatening, the man was transported to the emergency room for treatment.
Investigators have identified some witnesses, McCoy added.
No description of a suspect, who appeared to have been on foot, was available Wednesday afternoon. This incident does not appear to be related in any way to another shooting into an occupied dwelling incident on Berney Station Road over the weekend.
